The Hasty Tongue

Because we can never be totally aware of all of the sensitivities of others, we must depend on the Holy Spirit to direct our speech in a way that does not tap into their pain, distress, or other negative experiences.

Dare To Dream

The Source of Hatred

If hatred dwells inside of you, it is yourself that you must question first...not the object of your distaste.

Quote of the Day

"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others. For beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness. And for poise, walk with knowledge that you are never alone." - Audrey Hepburn

The South...

where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter

summer starts in April

front porches are wide, and words are long

macaroni and cheese is a vegetable, pecan pie is a staple

y’all is the only proper pronoun

chicken is fried, and biscuits come with gravy

everything is darling, and someone is always getting their heart blessed ♥

Keep Shining

Stars can't shine without darkness.

Be Above It All

If people are trying to bring you down, it only means that you are above them.

Mutual Weirdness ♥

We are all a little weird...and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it LOVE

Walk Through Fear

You must walk through fear and KEEP walking; he who holds his head high, while dark clouds surround, finds his way home.

Move On

You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.

Question

Why stop dreaming when you wake up?

Take Action

We are never given dreams without the power to make them come true.

Quote of the Day

"Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them, a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill." - Muhammad Ali

Quote of the Day

"To be blind is bad, but worse is to have eyes and not see." - Helen Keller

Focus and Purpose

Remember who you are, and why you are, and what’s important to you. Focus only on what matters.

Live on purpose, live with purpose, and with constant, loving attention to that purpose. You can make life good in your own way no matter what.

Your Dream

Somewhere in you is a dream. It’s probably buried deeply under all the day-to-day concerns, yet somewhere in you it lives.

It’s not at all practical, and it’s probably a little outrageous. Even so, it energizes your spirit like nothing else can.

It rises to the surface every now and then. And when it does, for a short while, the years melt away and you touch that place where everything seems possible.

Then it usually sinks back down under the surface of your awareness…and there it waits, patiently, never losing its hope or its luster.

Your dream, as crazy and impractical as it may seem, is trying to tell you something. Your dream, with its promise that you all too quickly, all too often dismiss, wants to tell you who you are.

Isn’t it time you truly listen to what it has to say? Perhaps it is time to begin following that dream, and live the purpose with which you’re blessed.

Proverbs 31:30

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised!"

Inner Beauty

There is an inner beauty about a woman who believes in herself, who knows she is capable of anything that she puts her mind to.

There is a beauty in the strength and determination of a woman who follows her own path, who isnt thrown off by obstacles along the way.

There is a beauty about a woman whose confidence comes from experiences; who knows she can fall, pick herself up, and move on.

Promise Yourself...

"Promise yourself to look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true." A positive attitude and hard work keeps you moving forward.

"Promise yourself to think only the best, to work only for the best, and expect only the best." You should strive to be the best you can be.

"Promise yourself to be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own." It is important to help and encourage one another and no matter what the outcome is, you should be happy for one another.

"Promise yourself to wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile." It takes a greater number of facial muscles to frown than it does to smile.

"Promise yourself to give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others." Focus on areas you need to work on instead of talking about what others need to work on.

"Promise yourself to be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble." Don't let worry, anger, fear, and trouble distract you from your goal. Stay positive and always strive to be the best you can be.

Seek His Face

Seek God's face, and you will find more than you ever dreamed possible. Let Him displace worry at the center of your being. He is like a supersaturated cloud, showering Peace into the pool of your mind. His Nature is to bless. Your nature is to receive with thanksgiving. This is a true fit, designed before the foundation of the world. Glorify Him by receiving His blessings gratefully.

He is the goal of all your searching. When you seek God, you find Him and are satisfied. When lesser goals capture your attention, He fades into the background of your life. He is still there, watching and waiting; but you function as if you were alone. Actually, His Light shines on every situation you will ever face. Live radiantly by expanding your focus to include him in all your moments. Let nothing dampen your search for Him.

Big-Picture Thinking Keeps You on Target

Thomas Fuller, chaplain to Charles II of England, observed, "He that is everywhere is nowhere." To get things done, you need focus. However, to get the right things done, you also need to consider the big picture.

Only by putting your daily activities in the context of the big picture will you be able to stay on target. As Alvin Toffler says, "You've got to think about big things while you're doing small things, so that all the small things go in the right direction."
